Camellia Mimi Kuo is a partner in the Irvine, California office of Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP, one of the largest real estate law firms in the United States, and is co-chair of the firm’s Resort and Residential Development Practice Group. Ms. Kuo represents commercial developers and homebuilders in the development of master planned communities, planned developments, condominium projects, leasehold subdivisions and mixed residential/commercial developments, including timeshare and golf resorts. Her practice involves extensive experience with state and federal registration requirements and the implementation of pre-litigation strategies through tailored project documentation.

Among other projects, Ms. Kuo is currently working on a mixed-use resort development in Northern California involving two golf courses, a condo-hotel and a master planned residential subdivision, as well as a mixed-use resort and residential project located in the Caribbean.

Ms. Kuo is a Full Member of the Urban Land Institute, as well as an active member of the Building Industry Association of Orange County, where she serves on the Programs Committee, and the Building Industry Association of Southern California, where she serves on the Building Industry Show Programs Committee. She is a member of the State Bar of California and the Orange County Bar Association and previously served on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Orange County.

Ms. Kuo teaches the “Legal Aspects of Real Estate Development” course offered each year for real estate professionals through the Light Construction Development and Management certificate program at the University of California at Irvine. In the fall, Ms. Kuo will be moderating the “Public Officials Meet and Greet” panel for the Southern California Building Industry Show sponsored by the Building Industry Association of Southern California and will be speaking at the Annual Educational Conference of the Orange County Paralegal Association. Ms. Kuo has previously been a panel member for the UCLA Anderson Real Estate Forecast.

Ms. Kuo received her B.A. in Quantitative Economics and Decision Science from the University of California at San Diego in 1988 and her J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1991.
