Los Angeles County Bar Association Honors Cox Castle Nicholson's Ira Waldman

Century City, CA (May 29, 2014) – Cox Castle Nicholson partner, Ira Waldman, will be awarded Los Angeles County Bar Association’s (LACBA’s)Real Estate Property Section’s Outstanding Real Estate Lawyer Award at the 16th Annual LACBA Real Property Section Installation and Awards Dinner at the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City on May 29th. Each year, the LACBA’s Real Estate Property Section presents the award to individuals who achieve personal and legal/business excellence; practice/act ethically, honestly and with integrity; teach others; give of time, talents and means; and exercise leadership.

“I have been involved with the Bar Association’s Real Estate Property Section since well before this award’s inception, and looking back at the honorees that have come before me, I am truly honored to be considered among them,” said Waldman.

Waldman is one of the leading real estate lawyers in the United States. He has been repeatedly honored as one of Southern California Super Lawyers’ Top 100 Super Lawyers and an International Who’s Who of Real Estate Lawyers Most Highly Regarded Individual. Waldman was also listed in Best Lawyers’ 2012 edition of The Best Lawyers in America and selected as a notable practitioner in Chambers & Partners’ list of Real Estate Lawyers. Waldman began his law career in 1976 as a real estate lawyer with Union Mutual Life Insurance Company (now UNUM) in Portland, Maine and has been working with Cox Castle Nicholson for 34 years.

Waldman graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine in 1973 and from University of Maine School of Law in 1976 cum laude. He has donated countless hours to his undergraduate alma mater as an alumni council member, reunion committee member, career adviser and event speaker, and his law school as a University of Maine Law School Foundation Board of Directors member as well as an investment and finance committee chair.

Waldman’s leadership in his professional community has included positions on the American College of Real Estate Lawyers’ Board of Governors and the governing council of the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law. He is a frequent speaker and writer for various professional organizations, including the highly anticipated Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Real Estate Annual Finance Update event.
