Our ideal candidate would be a mid to senior level associate (4th year to 8th year) who has solid real estate transaction experience regarding purchases and sales, joint venture formation, and finance work.  Experience with residential developers/builders, commercial developers/builders, and land bank transactions a plus.

Litigation Associate - Los Angeles

Our ideal candidate would be a junior litigation associate with a minimum of 2 years of general business and real estate litigation experience.  The candidate should have experience in drafting pleadings, law and motion and other briefs, research, document review, case organization, and responding to discovery.  An excellent academic record and strong writing skills are required.  Familiarity with Concordance, Relativity and CaseMap helpful but not required.

Land Use Associate - Los Angeles

Our ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 years of experience, excellent writing and communication skills, strong academic credentials, a desire to work on land use matters both locally and statewide.  Knowledge of CEQA is key, experience with Planning and Zoning Laws, Municipal Law, Administrative Law, and the Subdivision Map Act is highly desirable.  Litigation background is also desirable.

Insurance Coverage Litigator/Transactional Coverage Lawyer - Los Angeles

We will consider a junior partner with portable business, a mid-level associate (minimum 5 years of experience) or a senior counsel.  Our ideal candidate would have experience with real estate and construction insurance coverage, focusing on the policyholder side only.

This person will represent primarily owners, investors, general contractors, developers, and homebuilders and must have experience handling coverage issues relating to defective construction, among other types of claims.  Additionally, this person must have experience with the following types of policies: commercial general liability (“CGL”), umbrella liability and excess liability; builder's risk; permanent property; and professional liability. Experience with wrap-up insurance programs is a plus.

Responsibilities will include: prosecution of insurance coverage claims in pre-litigation settings, in mediations and in litigation; analysis and critiques of commercial insurance policies, including drafting of manuscript policy language; and handling contractual risk transfer issues, including indemnification provisions and insurance requirements, in a wide range of contracts, such as design and construction contracts, license agreements, JV agreements, management agreements and purchase & sale agreements.  Must have a strong academic background and excellent writing skills.
