John Trott was featured in the Profiles in Membership section of the March/April 2013 issue of the American Bar Association's Probate & Property Magazine. A member of the firm's Institutional Investor Team, Trott represents financial institutions, real estate developers and owners, and institutional investors in complex commercial real property acquisitions, dispositions and financings, and in restructuring the financial arrangements of troubled assets.
According to the article, Trott joined the ABA's Section of Real Property Trust & Estate Law (RPTE) while he was an associate because he wanted to take advantage of legal education opportunities but soon found out that it was also an opportunity for networking and making friends with other lawyers who practice throughout the country. Trott is currently chair of the Workouts, Foreclosure and Bankruptcy Committee of the Real Estate Financing Group and assistant editor of RPTE’s eReport. Recently, he was appointed an ABA Advisor to the Uniform Law Commission’s Drafting Committee on Appointment and Powers of Real Estate Receivers. In addition, Trott is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a member of the Board of Overseers of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
