Miriam Sondag is senior counsel for the firm’s Affordable Housing Team.
Before joining Cox, Castle & Nicholson, Miriam served as assistant general counsel for the New York City Housing Development Corporation, the leading issuer of bonds for multi-family mixed-income and affordable housing projects in New York City. At New York City Housing Development Corporation, Miriam worked on a broad array of affordable housing and real estate matters, including structuring and closing complex affordable housing transactions and working on affordable housing, tax-exempt bond and low income housing tax credit policy matters..
Prior to working for the New York City Housing Development Corporation, Miriam was a staff attorney with Lawyers Alliance for New York. Miriam served the transactional and nonprofit law needs of a substantial client base of community-based and nonprofit groups with focuses on affordable housing and urban health.
Miriam previously worked in big law at Jones Day. While at Jones Day, Miriam was the lead associate on more than 30 affordable housing finance transactions, and on sale and lease-back transactions involving over 30 buildings in 11 states.
Miriam earned her J.D. at Columbia Law School. Prior to attending law school, Miriam received her B.M., in Vocal Performance, from Oberlin College, Conservatory of Music.
