Julia E. Stein is a Senior Counsel in the firm’s Environmental and Land Use teams. She specializes in environmental litigation, regulatory compliance, and land use matters.
Julia has experience with matters involving a variety of state, federal, and local laws, including Prop 65, CEQA, the Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act, CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Oil Pollution Act. She has counseled her various clients through interactions with agencies such as EPA, the California Coastal Commission, and California’s State and Regional Water Quality Control Boards, In addition, she has assisted clients with the development and entitlement process.
Julia is a member of a number of professional organizations. She currently serves on the California State Bar Association’s Environmental Section Executive Committee and is the Editor-in-Chief of the Section’s publication, the Environmental Law News. She also sits on the Advisory Board of the Western Center of Law and Poverty, and is a member of the American Bar Association and the Los County Bar Association.
Julia received her law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. She graduated cum laude in both History and Government from Georgetown University.
