Overview
Simmone Ashai is a member of the firm’s Litigation Team. She counsels clients through all phases of litigation in both state and federal courts. She has handled numerous aspects of civil litigation, from drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery, to participating in dispute resolution proceedings and trial preparation. Simmone’s litigation practice includes experience in front of regulatory bodies, and she has represented clients in a range of agency proceedings including rulemakings, investigations and enforcement actions.
Simmone recently served as a Judicial Law Clerk in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, under supervision of the Honorable Dale S. Fischer. Prior to her clerkship, Simmone was an associate at an international law firm. Her practice included litigating disputes related to patents and other intellectual property, real estate, antitrust, insurance, employment, and environmental matters.
She received her J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2017. During law school, Simmone served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Scott. C. Clarkson in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. In her second year of law school, Simmone was selected as one of four law students to represent USC Law in the international Willem C. Vis East Commercial Arbitration Competition, an annual negotiation competition held in Hong Kong. In her third year, she was selected as one of three students to represent USC in the 2017 American College of Bankruptcy LawMeet Competition, where she and her team brought back the award for best negotiation brief.
Simmone received her Bachelor of Arts in both Anthropology and Philosophy, with a minor in Economics, from the University of California Irvine in 2013.
