Cox, Castle & Nicholson's David Waite Elected To The American College Of Real Estate Lawyers

Los Angeles – (May 6, 2016) Cox, Castle & Nicholson proudly announces that partner David Waite has been elected to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), a premier organization of distinguished, nationally recognized U.S. real estate lawyers. Waite was nominated by the College for his outstanding legal ability and more than 25 years of experience serving the real estate industry. Members are elected to fellowship for their years of practice, expertise and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of real estate law.

“David is a strong and recognized trailblazer in both the field and our firm,” said Mario Camara, managing partner at Cox, Castle & Nicholson’s Los Angeles office. “We congratulate David on his well-deserved national honor and look forward to his continued leadership.”

Waite has served as lead counsel for a variety of land owners, developers, lenders and institutional investors on the environmental, land use, regulatory and administrative aspects of real estate ownership and development, including land use and environmental litigation. He is actively involved in many real estate industry associations, serving as Governance Chair and immediate past Chair of the Urban Land Institute's Los Angeles District Council, Chairman Emeritus of the Southern California Real Estate Alliance, and Board Member of the Los Angeles Headquarters Association. Waite previously served on the Advisory Board of the California Infill Builders Federation. He has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.

In addition to his election to ACREL, Waite has received several industry honors, including recognition on the Los Angeles Daily Journal’s list of “Top 50 Development Attorneys” in 2014. Waite has also been annually listed in Southern California Super Lawyers since 2011 and has a Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review RatingTM of 5.0 out of 5.0.
