Overview
Teresa is a labor and employment attorney representing employers, trade associations, owners, public agencies, and labor-management trust funds in employment law, traditional labor relations, ERISA matters, and litigation in both state and federal courts.
Teresa represents employers and owners across various industries in a range of litigation, including single-plaintiff and class-action matters involving claims of wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, ADA violations, and disability, religious, sex, race, and other forms of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. She has extensive experience defending employers against charges brought before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Civil Rights Department, and the California Labor Commissioner's Office.
Her practice also includes counseling employers on their day-to-day operations, such as navigating terminations, negotiating severance, implementing progressive discipline, providing reasonable accommodation and leaves of absence, implementing reductions in force, investigating reports of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hiring, compensation, and worker classification decisions, paid sick leave, and wage and hour compliance. She also advises on establishing and maintaining employment policies, employee handbooks, and personnel files.
