Overview
Matt Benjamin is a land use and environmental attorney who advises developers on complex land use, zoning, entitlement, and environmental matters at the local, state, and federal levels.
His practice focuses on representing clients developing affordable housing and renewable energy projects throughout California. Matt guides clients through every stage of the entitlement process, including conducting due diligence, coordinating with government agencies, overseeing environmental reviews, and developing creative strategies to navigate the state’s evolving regulatory landscape.
Matt graduated from Stanford University and earned a joint J.D./M.S. from Stanford Law School and the Doerr School of Sustainability. During law school, he served as Co-President of the Environmental Law Society, Submissions Editor of the Stanford Environmental Law Journal, Leader of the Native Law Pro Bono Project, and Financial Officer of the Energy & Infrastructure Club.
