Overview
Sierra Bunnell Scott is an experienced real estate transactional attorney who advises clients on the development, financing, operation, acquisition, and disposition of energy and climate-focused assets.
Sierra represents project sponsors, lenders, equity investors, and host offtakers across wind, solar, energy storage, biofuels, EV charging, geothermal, data centers, and emerging energy technologies. Her experience spans utility-scale and distributed generation projects, supporting clients from site acquisition and development through financing and operation.
Her practice includes negotiating ground leases, easements, purchase and option agreements, licenses and shared infrastructure arrangements, as well as advising on title, survey, due diligence, and title insurance matters. Sierra also advises on the real estate aspects of project finance, joint venture, acquisition, and tax credit transactions, working closely with finance, environmental, and tax teams to facilitate complex project execution.
Experience
Represented developer in connection with acquisition of a 613MW operational solar portfolio of over 50 operating projects in eight states.
Advised equity-backed venture on acquisition of a 100MW utility-scale solar PV project in California.
Represented developer in acquisition, development, construction, and permanent financing and equity investments in portfolios of 160MW and 80MW standalone energy storage, respectively, located across Texas.
Represented an industrial project developer in connection with development of a 360MW first-of its-kind cogeneration plant with carbon capture and sequestration, located in Illinois.
Represented a national energy infrastructure and data center company in the development of a large-scale 205MW Bitcoin mining data center in Texas.
