ICSC+U.S. LAW
Partner Andrew Fogg, Daniel Villalpando, and Travis Jeffries will be speaking at ICSC+U.S. LAW in San Diego on October 9.
"Adding Mixed-Use to Retail: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough — What Does It Take to Scale the Mountain to Add Mixed-Use to Retail?" will look at what it takes to climb the mountain and add a mixed-use component to a shopping center. Panelists Michael Ben-Isvy (Brookfield Properties), Lica Tomizuka (Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP), and Andrew Fogg will outline the due diligence process (particularly the review of existing documents) and the many parties involved (such as governmental authorities, lenders, ground lessors, tenants/occupants, property owners and citizen groups) and their various perspectives, concerns and desires (both monetary and non-monetary).
The "Negotiating Purchase Agreements: What You Can Expect to Give and Get in 2025" session will highlight current hot-button issues in purchase and sale agreement negotiations. Daniel and the fellow panelists will address changing trends in representations and warranties, baskets, caps, indemnities and other highly negotiated provisions in purchase and sale agreements.
"Generational Differences With a Common Goal" is a discussion on communication among the generations of attorneys in a law firm. With remote working routines and perceived differing styles of practicing law between generations of attorneys within an organization, panelists Nicole Fry (Elze Law PLLC), Peter Hartman (Hartman Simons & Wood LLP), and Travis Jeffries will discuss such differences, as well as commonalities, and identify how different generations of colleagues can work together for a successful relationship.
