Overview

As an associate on the Joint Venture Team, Kaitlin concentrates her practice in real estate acquisitions, sales, and joint ventures.  Kaitlin negotiates and closes a variety of complex real estate transactions, representing both buyers and sellers, in connection with, the purchase and sale of developed and undeveloped industrial, commercial and mixed-use properties.  She provides counsel for equity providers in the negotiation of joint venture transactions and land bank finance transactions in the acquisition of real estate assets in California and throughout the U.S.

Kaitlin provides counsel to master developers, merchant builders, and developers of unentitled land in various aspects of their acquisitions, development, and dispositions.  She also represents homebuilders in mixed use and residential properties in negotiating purchase and sale agreements, development covenants, joint venture agreements, easements and other transactional matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Kaitlin’s experience included working in property management at CBRE, Inc. and serving as an Extern to the Honorable Charles R. Breyer in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Kaitlin received her J.D., Order of the Coif, from UCLA School of Law. During law school, Kaitlin was named a Michael T. Masin Scholar and was awarded the Bruce I. Hochman Award for Excellence in the Study of Tax Law.  Kaitlin also received five Masin Family Academic Excellence Awards, including one in the study of Land Use.

Kaitlin served as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the UCLA Journal of Environmental Law and Policy.  She was also a Board Member for both the Real Estate Law Association and Business Law Association, and she was an Officer for the Tax and Estate Planning Law Association. Kaitlin received her B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science with a Minor in History from UC San Diego in June 2014.

Experience

Represented healthcare clients in connection with the acquisition of an 11-property portfolio of assisted living facilities located in the Pacific Northwest 

Negotiated and documented a pension fund’s aggregate investment of $550 Million in U.S. and Canadian commingled funds 

Represented a pension fund as the equity investor in a joint venture acquiring over $230 Million in real estate assets
