Overview

Michael is a commercial real estate finance attorney with extensive experience representing leading U.S. financial institutions, including banks, debt funds, insurance companies, and private lenders. He advises clients on the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of a wide range of financing transactions, including construction, bridge, mezzanine, and senior loans.

Drawing on his early career as a bankruptcy litigator, Michael also advises clients on bankruptcy, workouts, and UCC Article 9 matters. He has represented creditors and other stakeholders in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings, handling matters involving relief from the automatic stay, cash collateral disputes, landlord–tenant issues, proofs of claim, disclosure statements, plan confirmation, and asset sales. His litigation experience includes prosecuting and defending adversary proceedings such as fraudulent transfer and preference actions.
