Chris is a transactional real estate attorney with a reputation for successfully navigating complex legal challenges with a practical approach to problem solving. With a focus on achieving his clients’ goals while strategically managing their risks, Chris negotiates, structures and documents a wide variety of sophisticated real estate transactions.
Chris represents a broad spectrum of clients, from large institutional investors, REITs, master developers, operators, and public companies to nimble entrepreneurial developers, non-institutional investors and local merchant-builders.
Chris works closely with this broad range of clients to provide strategic counsel and to prepare acquisition, disposition, joint venture, property management, development management, profit participation, easement, license, cost-sharing and other related agreements covering a variety of asset classes.
Chris has considerable experience with the complex aspects of the acquisition, sale and development of multi-family projects, condominium projects, hotel and resort properties, medical office buildings, industrial sites, mixed-use residential projects, vacant land, and other commercial and residential real estate property types.
Chris has also represented some of the nation's most prestigious country clubs in connection with the structuring and implementation of equity and non-equity membership programs, creating balloting programs, preparation of club bylaws and addressing ongoing member matters. Chris has also successfully closed the sale of a number of operating golf courses and navigated the challenges unique to this asset class.
Chris earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law in 2001, where he participated in the Hale Moot Court honors program.
