Overview

Robert (“Robbie”) Hull focuses on land use, natural resources, and environmental law matters across various industries, including renewable energy and urban development. 

Robbie counsels clients through the land use entitlement process in the areas of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), State Planning and Zoning Law, the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act, and other state and federal laws related to land use and resource issues in California. He has assisted clients in developing housing and mixed-used projects, commercial projects and renewable energy projects. Robbie also has significant experience defending land use approvals and environmental review documents in post-approval challenges.  

Prior to joining the firm, Robbie served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Richard Tallman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. At Duke University School of Law, he served as notes editor for the Duke Law Journal and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Robert received his BA from Pomona College.

Assisted a renewable energy company with land use diligence involving financing for multiple solar energy project sites in Riverside County.  

Assisted a renewable energy company with land use diligence involving financing for multiple wind energy project sites in Kern County.  

Ongoing representation of renewable energy company in entitlement of solar project in Fresno County.  

Ongoing representation of renewable energy company in entitlement of solar project in Riverside County.  

Ongoing representation of renewable energy company in entitlement of battery energy storage projects in Northern and Southern California.  

Ongoing representation of developer in entitlement and defense of a mixed-use project consisting of more than 1,400 dwelling units and 200,000 square feet of retail, office and industrial space. 

Ongoing representation of developer in state litigation filed under the State Planning and Zoning Law and the California Environmental Quality Act relative to a 130-unit affordable housing project.  

Represented a homebuilder in state litigation filed under the State Planning and Zoning Law relative to a 300-acre mixed-use development.  

Represented a homebuilder in state litigation filed under the California Environmental Quality Act relative to a 245-unit development.
